Motorcycle Riding Courses near Buffalo, NY
Never rode a motorcycle before? Don't sweat it, the local New York State Motorcycle Safety Program (NYSMSP) offers a Basic Rider Course for beginning motorcyclists. The Basic Rider Course is designed to get you comfortable on a bike and give you the skills you need to ride with confidence.
In the classroom, you will get to know the motorcycle you'll be riding and learn the basics of rider safety skills.
On the practice range, you'll learn braking and turning, along with maneuvers like controlling skids and surmounting obstacles. You will receive a course completion card (which is sometimes referred to as a road test waiver card) after successfully completing the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Basic Rider Course. This card, when presented with a valid NYS Driver License and Motorcycle Learner Permit at the DMV, will allow you to apply for a Class "M” Motorcycle License without taking the DMV motorcycle road test.
